I had the pleasure of making a banner for a friend’s birthday recently. It left me longing for a grungebook of my own! Unfortunately I have a hard time making things for myself or the kids. I love sharing my talents with others, even if we share the same talents.
So this is what I made this time. Very plain and simple. I’ve made it with intentions of the receiver filling it in with photos, journaling, and things that are of importance to them. It’s a “LIFE 365″ book that will hopefully bring happiness, creativity and remind them of who they are.
I wanted to make it easy for Ang to add things to the book, so I added several embellishments, like the bottle caps. As well as other tags, and scraps of the paper I used.
Gabriella’s birthday is exactly four weeks away. I’ve asked her several times what she would like. I continue to get the same answer… “scrapbookin’ stuff just like you mom!” So I’m going to start looking for some kid friendly stuff to purchase for her. Does anyone have any suggestions? She really wants scissors, the ones that cut a pattern. Fortunately I’ve got about eight pairs of those. So I’m going to scratch that off my list. Has anyone used or purchased the Cuttlebug for kids? Someone suggested it, and I think it would be a great idea… if it’s worth the money. It looks like it’s $30 plus dies. I have a few of the embossing folders already, and I’m sure she’d be okay with that. But what about the cute little dies that cut out animals, or people? I found this review about the Cuttlebug, and it sounds pretty good. Especially since the lady who did the review has a three year old who operated the machine.
Hm… So many options. I think we’ll have a little party at a plaster place I heard about. Now if I could only remember where it’s at… and what it’s called!
Suggestions, please!!
Gabriella spent a lot of time with my gramma while we were in Michigan and has started drinking “tea.” So a tea set might be fun…
I’m headed to bed, I’ll be at the shoppe Friday and Saturday. I’ve got a fun project I’m working on and can’t wait to share. I’ll give you a hint…
October Afternoon’s Road Map + a Maya Road mini album = LA LA LA LA LOVE!!
Stop by the shoppe to see it!
Night all, and happy (almost) Friday!

Ok, my 2cents… We got the cuttlekids for a gift. And frankly, it’s so hard to use.
I just let my soon to be 6 yo use my cuttlebug. it’s a whole lot easier… good luck!
Love this album~!!!
My DD got a Cuttlekids for her 6th birthday, after her friend had also received one and B had tried it out. B loves it and can use it fine – she had it out of the box and set up by herself before I even realised! She loves that she has *her* dies and makes loads of cards for her friends.
