A few weeks ago I mentioned the bird cage Gabriella fell in love with at Hobby Lobby.
It’s still a work in progress but here’s a before and after of it. (Before is white.)
I spray pained the bird cage blue, at her request. (Someone once told me that I dressed Gabriella in blue, as an infant, with malicious intent… guess what, blue is her favorite color!) Anyways, I’ve added a hint of gold to give it a bit of an antique look.
I’m still trying to decide how I want to decorate the inside. I’ve put together the bird, as you can see. I think I’ll grab a branch from outside, and attach the bird to the branch. I have some Maya Road chipboard letters (GABRIELLA) that I spray painted. So I need to figure out a way to incorporate those also. Only a few more weeks to get this done! I can’t wait to hang it in her bedroom. She’ll love it!
It looks great, you must show us the finished item! I did a project called ‘Gilded Cage’ (it’ll appear on my blog some time) with a stamped bird perched on a twig from outside lol – this cage would’ve been perfect, I used a box frame instead, yours looks better :-b
