This box turned out so much nicer than I had expected. It was my first time covering a jewelry box, but as soon as I touched it, I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like. Have you ever done that before? Touched something and INSTANTLY had something come to mind?
My oldest daughter will be five on Friday and she received a charm bracelet for her birthday two years ago. Her collection is growing, so I’ve made this box with her in mind.
I started out by covering the box with PPA. Then I strategically placed the book pages. I didn’t want them to be perfectly straight, and if you know me… at all, you know how difficult that was, as I’m very much a freak about everything being straight!
Once dry, I painted the jewelry box with the Pastel and Stargazer Mica Watercolor Palette.
After that was dry, I adhered the dried flowers, and painted over them to give them some color. I added some Crystal Effectz to the flowers to make them pop. Then I added the stickers I’ve had FOR-EV-ER that say “dream,” “hope,” and “wish.” Appropriate for her birthday I do believe!
After I achieved the desired color, and I was satisfied with the embellishments, I added several layers of PPA Gloss to give it a really nice sheen!
Now hop on over to Lea to see her amazing project!
