Just a few short months ago my friend’s boyfriend, Greg, contacted me. He said he wanted to propose to his girlfriend (my friend Kristi), and he asked if I could help create a banner. Well, never mind the banner. Instantly I had the perfect idea for an engagement gift!
I made a printable with the date of their engagement!
(available in my shop)
I wasn’t sure how I would get everyone to sign the printable so I printed two copies. The first one I wrote; “put signed copy in frame”. That way I could wrap the frame and give it as a gift, allowing time for the guests to sign the printable after Greg proposed to Kristi.
The second copy was the printable everyone would eventually sign.
The guests met fifteen minutes before we were asked to walk into the restaurant. While everyone got in place, I ran around to each person and asked them to sign the printable. It worked out perfect! It even allowed me time to switch out the sample copy with the real one so when she opened it, this is what happened when she opened their engagement gift…
I couldn’t be happier for my sweet friends!
You may recognize this frame. It’s the same one I used to frame Professor Snape’s Patronus. It’s a beautiful frame, and the color is perfect for this engagement gift. I picked it up at Hobby Lobby in the framing section. They have a gorgeous assortment of colors, but obviously the green one calls to me!
Just in case you wanted to know more about the banner, it said; “Will you marry me?” I created it using the same flowers that were used in the printable that everyone signed.
Each banner piece was printed at Staples on a high quality card stock then laminated with a thick laminate so each banner piece would stand up on its own.
