Hello friends!! I’ve got a few things for you today. First, today is the FIRST! If you don’t know what that means… it means today is Anything But A Card’s FIRST challenge! Please head over and check it out!
Second, I wanted to share this really awesome card that I made using Art Impressions Harvest Try Folds. Currently this stamp is available in stores only, but should be available online soon.
I didn’t use the stamps as they were originally intended. Instead I stamped all three stamps onto one layer. I did however create a video to show you how to use them properly. Leave it to me to break the rules!
I took photos as I colored, so you could see the colors I used, and so you could get an idea of how I colored… and what it looked like as I went along. I colored this while camping with my family, or else I would have just taken a video for you! There are several photos, so I’ve uploaded them as a gallery so it doesn’t take forever to load. If you want to look at them individually, simply click on a photo. If you want to view them in order, simply click on the first image, and it will open as a slideshow.
I used Rose Peach, Pumpkin, Mandarin, Sunflower, Pink Lavender, Wild Orchid, Red Violet, Light Fawn, Nutmeg, Auburn, Rosewood, Apple, Chartreuse, Sea Green, and Lipstick Red to color the image. You can purchase Letraset FlexMarkers from Simon Says Stamp, or directly from Letraset (you can find their link on my sidebar). Once it was done, I used a stencil from The Crafters Workshop to add the clouds.
Hope you’ve enjoyed todays card! Happy Labor Day, hope everyone has a great Labor Day!
I wasn’t to inspired by this months photo challenge. I think it was the color combination- not one of my favorites.
Though there were many things I could see beyond the photo, I even attempted several different things, but couldn’t finish them. Hopefully in the next few days I’ll feel more inspired.
However, I am very satisfied with the one thing I DID manage to finish. I hope you are too! I based my design on the round pillow with the layers and the flower on top.
I stamped a generic sentiment. Over top of the beautiful blossoms flower image. The sentiment is from Hello, Friend. It reads: “Sending a handful of cheer your way in the hope that you’ll have a most beautiful day.” The flower was stamped with Summer Sunrise (which matches Summer Lovin’ Sun perfectly!)
Not sure why, but fall colors are SCREAMING my name. One of my best girlfriends is getting married September 21st, so fall is on my brain. I can’t wait for the wedding!
Step 1.) cut flowers and leaves from felt. I used the Frilly Flowers Die Collection.
Step 2.) pick a variety of Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays. Including Flat Fabio’s and Starburst Stains. I choose My Mojito Green, Rizzo’s Rowdy Red*, Tears on my Pillow Tangerine*, Summer Lovin’ Sun, Pretty in Pink Pink. *coming soon.
Step 3.) spray each piece individually and heat dry. (I’m impatient. Allowing felt time to dry would take, what would feel like, an eternity.) Just remember to hold the heat tool a safe distance from the felt so it doesn’t catch fire.
Step 4.) assemble flowers in desired order and stick a straight pin through the center. If everything looks great, simply clip the pointy part of the pin and using needle nose pliers curl the straight pin towards the felt piece. This will help “lock” everything in place.
If you wanted, you could even use embossing powder or alcohol based makers to alter the color of the straight pins head to match your embellishment.
I love the way this flower turned out, and can’t wait to make a few more to add to my girls headbands!
I hope you’re feeling inspired! Thanks for stopping by!
Now let’s see those BRAND NEW STAMPS
we’ve been talking about!!
I’ve used the Party Penguin’s for my card today. I just adore these cute little guys!
To create the flower, I’ve used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Open Arms Amethyst. The material is canvas, I cut same waves in a strip about 12″ long, then I dyed it with the spray.
The colors I’ve used are listed above. I’ve used Letraset Pro and FlexMarkers. I did use Copic’s grey’s because I haven’t established my collection of Letraset markers yet. I love the blue combination- aquamarine and surf blue. I’m going to have to say it’s my favorite!
Hope you’ve enjoyed my card!
There’s a linky party happening NOW on the Lindy’s Stamp Gang blog. You have approximately two more days to enter. Don’t delay! The theme is Spring and you could win a $25.00 gift certificate to shop all things LSG!
Today, I wanted to share a card I made for my sister for her 21st birthday! I can’t believe she’s going to be 21 in a few short weeks! She was born premature, so I thought I’d give her her card early, and… to be honest, I’m really excited to give it to her! I know she’ll love it!
I loved the photo inspiration here- the pinks and pastels. I immediately thought of Webster’s Pages Sunday Picnic.
I used the Dainty Dancing image from Lili Of The Valley. I colored her with my Pro and FlexMarkers. I used:
Face: Almond, Pastel Pink and Blush
Hair: Almond, Walnut, and Auburn
Leotard/Slippers: Shocking Pink, Watermelon, Pale Pink and blender
To color the felt star, I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Yellow Rose of Texas. To color the banner I used my Watermelon FlexMarker. To add some sparkle, I used my Cotton Candy Pink Starburst Stain. (You’ll see the shimmer better in the photo below.) To add some sparkle to the leotard and slippers I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang’s magicals in Hottie Patottie Hot Pink. (It is also available in a spray HERE.) To color the stars, I used the Yellow Rose of Texas magicals, also available in a spray, linked above.
I used the double ended banner die from Papertrey Ink. I used Spellbinders stars five, classic oval large Nestabilities, and lacey ovals.
The video below shows you how I’ve used Lindy’s Stamp Gang, magicals to add minor details to really finish off my card. In the video I use a Stampin’ Up! blender pen, which can be purchased from any Stampin’ Up! demo.
It has been a beautiful Monday here in Texas, I hope it’s as equally beautiful tomorrow! Good night friends!
Added to the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant: #139 photo inspiration.
Simon Says Stamp: anything goes.
Oh La La Challenge Blog: #100 on the move.

Good Friday morning to you! Can’t believe Thanksgiving is already over! The drive, the preparation, getting to spend time with friends and family. It was all so worth it! And here we are. Black Friday! Be sure to check out the giveaway by my dear friend, Rebecca of i am cared for. She’s giving away a pair of gloves, and with this cold Michigan weather, they sure came in handy for the kids and I! (She can make smaller sizes for children, isn’t that fun!)
Now it’s time for the monthly Papertrey Ink blog hop! This is a pre-post as we we’ve been on vacation all week. Please excuse any glitches, they won’t be fixed until we return Monday.
For this card, I used On Ice.
The papers for this card are from Jessica Sprague.
I used Autumn Leaves Ponderosa Pine Olive Starburst Stain on the flower.
The stains are from Lindy’s Stamp Gang.
(PS: Lindy’s is having a HUGE sale for Black Friday!)
I used Ramblin’ Rose Pink Starburst Stain for this flower.
Check out my giveaway, below. Or, click HERE to be taken right to it!

This is a recipe challenge hosted by Sassy Sketches. There are five challenge blogs participating in the hop, including ScrapTiffany!
Here’s the sketch:
Here’s my take…
Pattern paper is Pink Paislee. The crocheted circles are from Little Blue House, a local scrap shoppe. They were white, I painted them with Tattered Angels, Glam.
Lots of fun stuff being given away with this blog hop- check out Sassy Sketches for more information.
Thank you all so much for the kind comments. I’m usually better at personally responding, but, my hubby is sick now too. I’m glad it was after the kids and I! So now it’s my turn to take care of him!
Hope you enjoy the hop!
