Pinspiration Mini Album

I am WAY excited for this little album! Everyone loves Pinterest, and everyone seems to be inspired by it. I thought I would put my favorite ‘pins’ in an album, something I can have on my desk, right at my finger tips. Here’s a before and after…

I started by covering the word “LOVE” and the base, with washi tape. I did that because I wanted to paint them both. I mixed some Yes Paste with Mica Powders from Lindy’s Stamp Gang. I used a plastic card to paint the paste onto the base and I set it aside to dry for 24 hours. After the word was wrapped, I took Delphinium Turquoise and dripped it onto the word. I started at the top, and dropped some along the edges of each letter. I didn’t want to make a mess, but, I did want some areas to be darker, dripping the color on, instead of spraying it on, allowed me more control.

Once the cover and the base were done, I went to work on the tabs. I have these really awesome stamps from KI Memories called Verbology. They are no longer available in store, but, I’ve managed to find some on Ebay. I have several different sets of those stamps, and they were perfect for the tabs. I picked five different categories that I was most likely to use; Color, Design, Sew, Give and Party. I’ve stamped the words onto acrylic with Staz-On

Printing the images was a little tedious, but, I was committed! I took a screen shot with my cell phone, then I loaded the photos into Diptic and created a collage consisting of four images. From the app, I emailed the collage to myself, then opened them up in Photoshop. I arranged enough photos onto one 8.5″X11″ page so that it was covered. There were approximately 30 photos on each printed page. I used Yes Paste to adhere the photos to the chipboard, I also used it as a sealant after I was finished applying photos.

Pixie Dust Studio ‘dot’ Challenge

This week the challenge over at Pixie Dust Studio blog is to use polka dots!

-If you’re looking for the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog hop click HERE.-
-If you’re looking for my Next Day Flyers giveaway click HERE.-

I love this sweet little girl from the new love collection. The image is Pixie Dust Studio and is called Heart Garden.

I took a piece of pattern paper and stamped it using VersaMark and Basic Grey’s Life Of The Party Dots. The sentiment, “Picture Perfect” is from Unity Stamp Company’s November kit of the month. (My FAVORITE kit, by far.) I used VersaFine (Onyx Black) to stamp the sentiment.

And here are the colors I used… sorry for the blurry picture.

Make sure you hop on over to the Pixie Dust Studio blog to play along with this weeks ‘dot’ challenge!

SSD#85 Invoke Arts

I’ve only recently started stamping, so companies that have been around for years are new to me. At the Grapevine Heirloom Show I discovered Invoke Arts. There were several amazing stamps I just loved.

I followed the Skipping Stones Design Sketch #85 to create this card.

I used brown cardstock from Papertrey Ink.
Vintage Seam Binding which I colored with YG63.
And a remnant I picked up along the way which I also colored with E81.

I used Papertrey Inks dies: Make a Wish collection and Button Card Collection.

Stamp: Invoke Arts Dreams Ticket isn’t the whole stamp just amazing!
The ink looks pretty amazing too. I used VersaMagic in Cloud White.

And I don’t believe I shared this card yet. Though I have posted it to flickr and FaceBook.

I participated in the Deconstructed Sketch challenge #9.

I used a digi stamp from Lori Boyd of By Lori Designs.

Copics: E0000, 00, 30, 31, 93, 97, 99, BG70, 72.

And Lori is giving away one of her sweet LolliPops! For more information on the giveaway check out her post!

That’s all for today, hope everyone has a great weekend!!

ScrapTiffany: Scrap lifting Michelle Zindorf

I was really excited about this challenge! It gave me an opportunity to try something new. The challenge was to scrap lift a technique.

First, Michelle Zindorf is a brayering extraordinaire. I’ve heard about it, I’ve seen and used the brayer… I just never… tried it!

Perfect opportunity! I saw this post in specific… Tutorial #313. I used a stamp set from Unity Stamp Co. called Gratitude=Joy!

So, here is Michelle’s card…

And here’s mine…

You can see I have some work to do… but, my first time brayering wasn’t a complete fail, although, the photo was! Sorry!
For this particular card, I used Versa Fine in Satin Red, Habanero, and Spanish Moss. I couldn’t find my Onyx Black ink pad, so I used Memento for this card. I prefer Versa Fine for stamping, especially anything with intricate designs.
